We are thrilled to have such a large and talented bunch of subscribers. However, as the list has grown, knowing the type of work each person is doing is becoming more and more difficult. We love our role as "gatekeeper" and throughly enjoy helping people finding the appropriate help as it is needed. As a result, we have developed a 4 question survey for the first 100 people to complete. This will help us learn more about you, especially if you would like to have us consider you for strategic partner type projects and/or referrals. We had the final session in the 6 webinars series earlier. We had pretty good attendance and we will get the remaining three sessions uploaded soon for you to review at your leisure. We received feedback that people would like a few more deeper dive sessions. Some of what we have heard is about the Advanced Inventory feature that is new with QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 11.0. We have been working with that extensively, so we will definitely offer a session on that soon. We also have heard interest in Fixed Assets, Fraud Reduction, and others. If there is something you would like to see, please let us know. Don't forget that for specific questions, you also have a complimentary Monthly Discussion Forum as a resource.
One last thing, we are actively looking for a project managment/sales/administrative support person to join our team. We have been blessed with so many referrals for client projects as well as ProAdvisors who have expressed an interest in working with us. As a result, we need to hire someone to help us "direct traffic" through our organization. A virtual assistant type person would be perfect, some sales support experience is also a huge plus, but basically we are just looking for an organized, energetic person to work with us. Q - So it appears that I would need to set up separate payroll items for the taxes, but QB won't let me add any additional federal taxes. How do I class track the taxes? Submitted by Jenny
A - The short answer is that you need to check the payroll preference correctly. Log in as the Admin user in single user mode since this preference is a Company Preference. Choose Edit > Preferences > Payroll & Employees > Company Preferences. About half way down you will see a check box which should be marked for Job costing, Class, and Item tracking for paycheck expenses. You also have the option to choose the radial button for either one class for the entire paycheck, or the allocation can occur at the earnings item level. The payroll taxes will be pro-rated based on the allocation of the wages.
This is also the issue if you are entering time sheets and the class column does not appear: You need to mark the radial button for the earnings items.
